I have one heck of a busy week planned and don’t know when I’ll get a chance to blog again so I thought I’d go ahead and share a few more sneak peaks from Gina and Chad’s beautiful wedding along with one bride and groom shot that I got in at Kaylee and Jonathan’s wedding later in the day! I shot in Goshen Alabama while my assistant Ashley was preparing to shoot in Slocumb Alabama. On my way home I stopped in just in time to get bride and groom shots at our second wedding of the day! Wow, what a weekend!

Just wanted to share one of my favorite images from today’s wedding. Inside the room were Miss Gina was to get ready for her special day I spotted an antique piano with keys so old and brittle I was sure it had not been used in years. But, with a few of Gina’s pale green flower petals and her and Chad’s rings, we made sure it was making music to us again in no time! Add a super fast Canon L professional lens with my new full frame camera and we had a real work of art! Just check out the 2.8 blur in front of and behind the focal point!!! AWESOME!!! Sorry, you’ll have to wait to see more from Gina and Chad’s wedding, but I couldn’t wait to load this and give them a sneak peak…

Wow, what a wonderful couple to work with. I love working with gals who know exactly what they want for their engagement portrait and I love working with guys who are willing to give their lady what she wants and more! I can hardly wait until Angela and Chris’ wedding. They are to wed in Cullman Alabama in one of the most beautiful and truly inspirational places in this part of the country. St. Bernard’s Abbey not only takes your breathe away with it’s beauty, but it keeps your spirit soaring the entire time you’re there. I’ve never felt more blessed to be in this business. I hope Angela and Chris enjoy their ’sneak peak’ as their full engagement gallery should be posted by tomorrow!

Just wanted to share this beautiful shot of Kaylee during her bridal session this week. When she started spontaneously playing with her ring I knew we had a REAL moment on our hands. Capturing it was a piece of cake. Kaylee was a joy to work with during her bridal session and I’m sure her wedding day will be even more magical.

After reading literally hundreds of reviews from follow pros over the past few weeks I have to admit I had a difficult choice between Fuji Film’s latest S5 Pro and Canon’s 5D. But, with so many wedding photographers raving about the 5D it quickly became clear that this camera was a winner! Fuji’s newest is not the full frame that I truly wanted and it is still so new to the market that I was simply afraid to be one of the first to grab it. I have jumped on that band waggon before only to be one of the many to end of complaining about the many negative features that became painfully obvious within the first few weeks of use. I have to admit though that it’s specs were pretty impressive.
The 5D will give me the full-frame that I’ve been yearning for because as an old film shooter I truly miss the TRUE 35mm format. I also miss not being able to use a fish-eye lens and being able to see the full crop in my view finder! Also, the 5D is one of only 2 cameras from Canon that I have read reviews comparing it’s quality to that of medium format. Now there is where the WOW FACTOR comes in. The camera also truly shines in low light photography. This will come in especially handy during evening wedding receptions and when I just want to do something with a bit of drama in my studio. After downloading a few full-size sample images I was totally blown away by this camera. I just placed my order for the body, battery pack attachment and extra rechargable battery. I also ordered the newest 4 GIG extreme III memory cards to complete the new outfit. I can hardly wait to get my hands on everything. I promise to post some images as soon as I get my new baby! -CK
