Misty & Brett

Ok, so we do our share of weddings, but I can tell you from experience that not every wedding goes off without a hitch like this one did! Misty was a born planner and it paid off nicely on her special day! Ralph and I both had a hard time shooting during the ceremony because we were tearing up from the emotion!!! Thanks God for autofocus!!! I can hardly wait to create their beautiful album… THANKS MISTY & BRETT for choosing us to document your beautiful wedding! -Cindi Kay

Upcoming classes

If you own a studio and would like to learn a bit about how we do things then listen up! We’re gearing up for our educational programs for 2008 including, professional Photoshop, basic studio lighting techniques as well as outdoor lighting and creative lighting…

I do apologize though as we’re in a small market and because of the nature of our giving away many of our trade secrets, We are only offering these programs to photographers who have studios located at least 50 miles away from us. Call us today to get on the list!!!

Best week ever!!!

Wow, word is spreading fast about our AWESOME studio! I don’t even know how many children we photographed last week, but I do know that I’ve never enjoyed myself so much! I just wanted to say a special THANKS to all the moms who are bringing their little ones to us! I can see in their faces just how much they trust us and I simply can’t express in words what that means to me! Choosing just the right photographer is a BIG DEAL to most MOMS, especially when their little one is still an infant…. I mean, they’ve been through nine months of pregnancy, read every “baby” book and magazine they can possibly get their hands on, they’ve spent a small fortune on just the right “outfits” and before they know it they have to decide WHO they would like to have photograph their precious gift! After all, it’s time to show him/her off to the world and they know that not just any photograph will do them justice :-) I completely understand because I’ve been there!!!

Now we’re off to shoot a wedding at Maria’s Vinyard! It’s going to be a GREAT DAY!!!

off camera flash… why do it???

I get a ton of questions on lighting so I thought I’d offer a clear example of images using off-camera flash! I don’t use it all the time, but occassionlly you just want to have FULL CONTROL over where the light falls and on the beach is a great time to use it!
Here’s one WITH off camera!!!

Here’s an example of one without… I enhanced the color here, but notice how much less depth and shadow are here!
It’s still a great image though even though the flash didn’t fire!!!

Her real name is Abigail, but I think she likes her nickname the best!

Bridal Extravaganza Q&A

I’ve been asked dozens of times if I plan to be there and my answer is a simple YES I will be there, but NO I will not have an exibit/booth… For those who are asking WHY, here it is:

A friend of mine who recently had a booth in a show told me of how disappointed he was that he really wasn’t able to focus on any one particular bride for more than a few seconds during the event. He was very disappointed because he wanted to spend quality time with each one of them and simply couldn’t! His frustration along with my past experiences with these types of events helped make my decision. I have a very nice “consultation” room at my studio where I prefer to meet on a more personal level with brides. I simply don’t think I can meet someone and have them evaluate my work, my personality and my style within the few seconds they would spend at my booth. I do think that these shows are WONDERFUL for brides as they are chock full of great ideas for their weddings. They will find the lastest bridal fashions along with lots of great decorating and planning ideas there!

I PREFER a much more “one on one” experience when it comes to meeting brides. I like to know that they are hiring me because they truly LOVE my work and not because they liked my booth better than the next guy… It’s NOT that I’m unsocial, it’s as simple as wanting to build a real relationship with my clients and not having their first meeting with me be so rushed…

THE GOOD NEWS is my work will be well represented at the show. I have an AMAZING wedding in Southern Bride magazine and I’m sure that every bride at the show will pick one up and take it home! I also have a beautiful bride on the cover of the new Wiregrass Bridal Directory and that will be a MUST for every bride as well… I have FAITH that any bride who truly enjoys our work will find it well worth their time in stopping by our studio (right here on Main Street) to see all that we have to offer. I’m also sure they will find our pricing very competitive to anyone else who does work as professional as we do!

Don’t be surprized if you see me wondering around the show floor though as I do like to see all the wonderful gowns that we’ll be photographing this year! I do LOVE a good fashion show! I do enjoy GOING TO the show, I just prefer not to be an exibit :-) -Cindi Kay

Princess Vanessa!

Who better to help me show off a new background than our very own Princess Vanessa! I fell in love with this beautiful backdrop and HAD to HAVE it! I can hard wait to get a bride on it!!!!!!!!! -Cindi Kay

just a FEW of my FRIENDS!!!

group-copy.jpg
From our recent trip to Tampa! Here’s just a few of my dearest friends in the photography world. Sitting just to the left of the rail is Ron Jackson of Deerfield Beach and just below me is Sandra Pearce also from South Florida. The guy with the beard on the top row is Marc Benjamin from San Francisco! He was photographer of the year in 2006! We also had this year’s photographer of the year, Keith Howe, in our group, but he hadn’t arrived yet when this photo was taken. We had many other teachers and mentors in this group! These guys have helped me grow so much as a photographic artist; I can always depend on them for open and honest opinions of my work.

I’m not sure who the young girl is in the bottom right, but I suspect she’s somone’s daughter or assistant :-)

By the way, MY assistant Lisa took this shot! Considering most of us had a few drinks by this time, I think she did an amazing job! GO LISA!!!

Have a terrific day!

a quick moment to share…

baby1.jpg
Just wanted to share one of our latest birth announcements! We’ve had a ton of babies in lately and I’m having a ball with them! I hope to have a moment to share our other weddings from December, but just don’t seem to have much time for blogging lately! I promise to blog more this week though… :-) -Cindi

La PAINTED Couple!!!

artblog.jpg
Ok, so I’m finally caught up on posting all of our weddings from December, YIPPIE!!! Now maybe I can “play” with a few of my favorites!

From Jeri and Bryan’s Christmas Wedding (Dec 29th)! We found this alley just behind the First Baptist Church in Eufaula… I thought it looked they were in Europe instead of Alabama! It was begging to be made into a work of art, so I started painting on it and this is what I ended up with! I look forward to your comments on this one!!!

STAY TUNED… MORE TO COME from the amazing weddings we did in December!!!

LOWER SESSION FEES for KIDS!!! What were we thinking???

2008 will bring many changes to Studio EnVogue and I’m so pleased to announce this one!!!

I was thinking towards the end of the year about ways that we could be a bit different in 2008 and one of the BIGGEST AND BEST ideas that I had was to find a few ways to GIVE BACK and say THANK YOU to our clients!!! What a novel idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Could there possibly be a better way to say THANK YOU to the MOMS who already brings their little ones to us and invite those who have been waiting in the wings to give us a try than to lower the session fee? I THINK NOT!!! DARE TO BE DIFFERENT, THAT WAS ALWAYS MY PLAN AND SO FAR IT HAS WORKED BEAUTIFULLY :-)

Session fees will now start at ONLY $24.95 for those little ones under 16 years of age!!! YIPPIE!!! There will be an additional charge for multiple children and extended sessions with multiple outfit changes but this will rarely bring a session to more than $39.00! I can hear the celebrations already :-)

Let’s not forget to mention of January Special!!! Bring us your NEW baby (six week old or less) before the end of this month and you get a 16×20 wall portrait absolutely FREE just for bringing your precious little one to us for his or her first portrait! PLUS your child’s first session is FREE as well and we want YOU to be in it as we like to call these FIRST sessions “Mommy and Me” memories! Your baby will never be this tiny again and believe me the portraits we create during this first session will be INCREDIBLE!!!

More exciting news coming soon!
